Every Sunday night, a growing number of TV viewers are following the daring adventures of Precious Ramotswe, Alexander McCall Smith’s indomitable protagonist of his #1 Ladies’ Detective Agency books and now the starof HBO’s ongoing series. The pilot, which debuted on the BBC in 2008, was the last film directed by Anthony Minghella and was produced by the late Sydney Pollack.
