A Book Review by Nikki!
Dr. Alan Gregory isn’t perfect. He’s not quirky or eccentric. He’s just a normal guy whose job places him in the midst of other people’s issues, both psychological and physiological. This story finds him closely involved with a family who has two children knocking at death’s door. Knowing what that feels like firsthand only made Alan’s plight more realistic to me.
Caught up in insurance red tape and the bureaucratic methodology of rubber-stamping claims, motive is certainly present when the founder of a major insurance company is found murdered. Alan must find out how this murder intertwines with his patient to save her from herself as well as from being accused of murder. How far does one family go to protect each other by sacrificing themselves?
For those of you who enjoy the Alan Gregory series, you won’t be disappointed. For those of you who are first-timers, this book can easily be read as a stand-alone novel.
