Hot Mahogany is Wood’s 10th Stone Barrington novel.  When asked on his Web site where he gest his characters’ names, the author replied, “When I wrote Chiefs I knew I would need a lot of names, so I wrote down the name of all the merchants on Main Street in my hometown, then mixxed up the first and last names.  I got many compliments on their authenticity.  Now I use friends’ names or just make them up.”
