Clive Cussler’s Spartan Gold Ltd Ed. is a Momentous Occasion for Norwood Press, and an Extraordinary New Adventure Series for the Fan!

Spartan Gold by Clive Cussler

Adventure writers Clive Cussler (Medusa) and Grant Blackwood (An Echo of War) collaborated to create a new “land-based” Cussler Series. Their efforts produced Spartan Gold (2009 Penguin) the first Fargo Adventure. It is an explosive, adrenaline-charged adventure that Cussler fans will want to get their hands on.

Spartan Gold is our 19th Cussler limited edition work,” reports John Hutchinson of Norwood Press.  “We are very appreciative of our relationship with Clive and his co-authors.  It is always exciting to bring a new title to the collector.”

Norwood Press publishing began with an interest in the first Clive Cussler / Dirk Pitt adventure, Pacific Vortex.  Numerous collector requests for a hardcover of this elusive title prompted them to produce the first trade hardcover ever offered.  After incredible market acceptance of Pacific Vortex, quality collector editions of additional Clive Cussler titles, Valhalla Rising, Fire Ice, Sea Hunters II and White Death followed.

In conjunction with The Clive Cussler Collector’s Society (www.cusslersociety.com), Norwood Press began direct publishing of Cussler titles with the release of Black Wind, Lost City, Sacred Stone, Polar Shift, Atlantis Found and Dark Watch.  Their most recent editions are the International Thriller Writer Thriller 2 (edited by Clive), Spartan Gold, and The Wrecker, co-authored with Justin Scott (November 2009 NY: Penguin)

Of their relationship with the Grandmaster, John Hutchinson said, “Clive is one of the best authors to work with.  He is generous with his time, energy and talent.”

Clive Cussler is known as the Grand Master of the American action adventure novel.  He began writing in 1965 and published his first novel featuring Dirk Pitt ™ in 1973.  His first non-fiction work, The Sea Hunters, was released in 1996.  Clive has continued to write best selling action adventure novels with co-authors Dirk Cussler, Jack DuBrul, Paul Kemprecos, Grant Blackwood and newest member, Justin Scott.

Grant Blackwood, a U.S. Navy veteran, and spent three years aboard the guided missile frigate USS Ford, as Operations Specialist and Pilot Rescue Swimmer.  His books are high suspense action thrillers featuring covert operative Briggs Tanner.  “With Grants personal experience, it makes sense that Clive would tap Grant for this new series” said Hutchinson.
