Bestselling thriller writer JEFFERY DEAVER has been chosen by Ian Fleming Publications  to write the New James Bond novel scheduled for release May 28, 2011.

In an interview with the BBC, Deaver explained that he plans to make sure that there will be movie-style tension in the book.  As with all of Jeffery Deaver’s books, the action will be fast-paced and Deaver promises a great surprise ending.

In 2004, Jeffery Deaver won the Crime Writers’ Association’s Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award for his book Garden of Beasts.  In his acceptance speech he talked about his life-long admiration of Fleming’s writing.
