John speaks with author Grant Blackwood

Kill Switch by James Rollins and Grant Blackwood

I had the pleasure of speaking recently to bestselling author Grant Blackwood. Grant is knee deep in writing his second book with James Rollins in the new spinoff series based on Rollins’ bestselling Sigma Force adventure novels. KILL SWITCH comes out in a couple of weeks and it features Former Army Ranger Tucker Wayne and his working dog Kane who are sent deep into Russia to infiltrate the well-guarded labs and extract a brilliant scientist. KILL SWITCH has received several starred reviews.

Most of you know Grant best as Clive Cussler’s co-author on the New York Times bestsellers Spartan Gold, Lost Empire, and Kingdom. Or maybe you caught Grant’s work as Tom Clancy’s co-author of Dead or Alive, which spent three weeks at #1 on the New York Times list and three months in the top ten. Grant also penned a few books in Clancy’s Splinter Cell Series using the pseudonym David Michaels.

While Grant’s work for others have topped the charts and been overwhelmingly received by fan and critic alike, I personally am stilled enamored with the three books he wrote under his own name featuring super spy Briggs Tanner, The End of Enemies (2001), The Wall of Night (2002) and An Echo of War (2003). Briggs Tanner is coming to eBook format real soon and we are talking to Grant about having Norwood Press publish all three in collector hardcover editions. I like the Tanner series so much that I bought a sizable stock of The Wall of Night, books that Grant has graciously stored in garage for us for several years.

Besides being one of the hardest working authors in the genre (he’s also working on his own new series), Grant lives in Colorado with his lovely wife, Julie. Julie, a graduate from the New York Institute of Photography is an accomplished photographer.

Best,

John
